FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Upcoming Launch of the Pan African Hellenic Cypriot Chamber will take place at AGORA SA 2026 on 20 February 2026

AGORA SA 2026 will serve as the official public launch platform for the Pan African Hellenic Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Professionals and Entrepreneurs NPC (the Chamber), a newly established non-profit institutional chamber based in South Africa with a pan-African mandate.
The Chamber has been established to strengthen structured economic, professional and entrepreneurial engagement among Hellenic and Cypriot heritage business communities in South Africa and across the African continent, and to support constructive trade and investment linkages with African, European and international markets.

AGORA SA is honoured to have been selected as the public launch platform for the Chamber. Our team is excited by the significant potential for collaboration and growth that exists in South Africa and across the African continent within Hellenic business networks,” said Savvas Pouroullis, CEO of AGORA SA.

Strategic Institutional Cooperation Framework

The Chamber and AGORA SA today also announce the conclusion of a strategic institutional cooperation framework, reflecting a shared commitment to structured economic engagement and coordinated initiatives within the African Hellenic business ecosystem.

This cooperation is founded on a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties, and reflects a shared commitment to:

  • structured economic cooperation,
  • business-to-business engagement,
  • innovation and entrepreneurship,
  • the promotion of trade and investment, and
  • strengthening the Hellenic presence within African and international economic networks.

“This launch symbolises the transition from initiative to institution and establishes the Chamber as a long-term structural partner in economic and professional engagement,” said Constantinos Tsouroulis, President of the Chamber.

Institutional Significance

The Chamber is a non-profit company (NPC) registered in the Republic of South Africa, operating as a permanent institutional chamber with a pan-African mandate and structured engagement with South Africa, Greece, Cyprus, the European Union and African markets. AGORA SA, the inaugural business conference and exhibition targeting Greek and Greek Cypriot business in South Africa, represents a landmark private initiative convening pioneers, innovators and leaders across key sectors including retail, hospitality, construction, property development, manufacturing, professional services, engineering, mining and global trade.

The cooperation between the Chamber and AGORA SA is complementary in nature, aligning private initiative with permanent institutional capacity to support continuity, governance, credibility and international reach.

Formal Public Launch of the Chamber

As part of this cooperation, AGORA SA 2026 will serve as the Chamber’s official public launch platform, providing a visible, credible and high-impact setting for the Chamber’s introduction to:

  • the business community,
  • organised Hellenism,
  • public authorities,
  • international partners, and
  • the broader public.

Shared Vision

Both parties affirm their commitment to:

  • inclusivity, collaboration and openness,
  • respect for existing community institutions and established structures, and
  • alignment with national, regional and international best practices.

This cooperation strengthens South Africa’s role as a gateway for economic engagement from Greece and Cyprus with Africa and reinforces the contribution of the Hellenic diaspora to sustainable development, innovation and trade.
